Airline customer: Asian Low Cost Airline
Lease Period: November – April
Reason for lease: Crew shortages
Aircraft: B737-800
Config: 2-class

ACMI24 had worked with this growing low cost airline on various projects. On this occasion, the airline had identified a clear shortage in the number of pilots trained to meet their expanding route network.

This was happening as they approached the peak season in their market. They needed to maintain their growth and avoid cancelling routes that had already been on sale six months in advance.

We achieved this for our client by bringing in ACMI wet lease capacity. ACMI24 was able to source a European B737-800 to operate this period on behalf the lessee.

The ACMI24 team knew that the timing of the lease would coincide with the low season in Europe – allowing us to offer an excellent price to our client.

The aircraft successfully operated regional and domestic scheduled routes, with cockpit and cabin crew provided in full by the lessor. The lessee was able to help passenger interaction and maintain consistent customer service by including one of their own cabin crew on board each flight.
