Background
A corporate travel management company specialising in the sports industry has a global framework agreement with ACC Aviation to supply and manage its aircraft requirements. The framework agreement covers a variety of sporting bodies, including national team travel.
Challenge
ACC Aviation was asked to provide aircraft charter solutions for national teams, including European and World Cup qualifiers, UEFA Nations League matches and international friendlies. Specific considerations included the number of passengers flying given social distancing requirements, the volume of personal baggage and kit for each trip, and ensuring the flights adhered to the COVID-19 guidelines of UEFA and FIFA.
Solution
ACC Aviation dedicated an experienced account manager to ensure the program ran smoothly. Reviewing the requirements of each international trip, the account manager provided the client with three suitable options. Each option took the number of passengers travelling and the total volume of baggage into consideration while providing full assurance that the COVID-19 guidelines were comfortably met.
Where possible, the account manager arranged for passenger processing through private terminals to ensure that the team travelled in their existing bubbles and avoid unnecessary contact at main terminals. To facilitate the successful operation of each flight, the account manager accompanied the teams throughout the program and provided coordination at the airports in line with the team’s expectations and operational brief.
Outcome
Throughout 2020, 2021 and 2022 ACC Aviation arranged numerous flights for national football teams.
